What size storage unit do you actually need?
Most people rent one size too big. Here's how we size units at the counter, room by room.

The most common thing we see at the counter is someone asking for a 10x20 who needs a 10x10. Nobody wants to run out of room on moving day, so they round up. Then they pay for air for a year.
Here's how we size it. Count rooms. A studio or a dorm fits a 5x10. A one-bedroom apartment fits a 10x10. A two-bedroom home fits a 10x15. A three-bedroom home fits a 10x20 if you stack. A four-bedroom, or a house plus a garage, is a 10x30.
The trick is height. Units are eight feet tall and that space is free. Boxes of the same size stack to the ceiling. Mattresses stand on edge in a bag. Table legs come off. Do that and most people drop a size.
If you're between sizes, take the smaller one. If it doesn't fit, we move you up within the first month and transfer the rent. Nobody has ever been upset about that. People are upset about paying $60 a month for empty floor.
Still not sure? Call and describe what you've got. We've sized a few thousand of these.
