Indoor units that hold a steady temperature all year
Spokane Valley sees single digits in January and the high nineties in August. Our climate-controlled building holds between 55 and 80 degrees year round and keeps humidity in check, which is what protects wood from cracking, electronics from condensation and photos from curling.
The building has a covered loading bay, a freight elevator, wide hallways and carts at the door. It's the right choice for anything you'd keep inside your house.

Good for
What belongs in climate control
Wood furniture
Tables, dressers and anything with a glue joint. Temperature swings are what open them up.
Electronics and instruments
TVs, computers, guitars and pianos. Condensation is the enemy.
Paper and photos
Files, books, albums, artwork. Humidity does the damage, not cold.
Fabric and leather
Mattresses, couches, clothing. Mildew needs moisture; climate control takes it away.

What climate control actually means here
Heating in winter, air conditioning in summer and dehumidification whenever the building needs it. We log the readings. The building is also sealed against dust and pests in a way a drive-up unit can't be.
Indoor units run about $30 a month more than the same size drive-up. For a unit full of furniture you care about, it's the cheapest insurance there is.

Climate-Controlled Storage questions
What temperature do you keep the building at?+
Between 55 and 80 degrees, with humidity controlled. We log it daily.
Can I get a drive-up climate-controlled unit?+
No. Climate control only works in a sealed building, so these units are indoors with a covered loading bay a few steps away.
Do I need climate control for a short rental?+
For a month or two in spring or fall, usually not. Over a Spokane summer or winter, or for anything on the list above, yes.

“Climate-controlled unit for my mom's furniture after we sold her house. Everything came out exactly like it went in.”
